What really pisses me off is that there’s proof high-profile artists would use grids and trace images and photos, hell fucking Disney used rotoscoping, but people will throw a hissy fit if @euclase or other big fan artists reference screenshots to draw a character or person they find appealing. People will jizz their pants over artists recreating Girl with a Pearl Earring or Starry Night Sky or fucking Marilyn Monroe, but fuck fanart, that’s too lowbrow and cheap.
