The reason why Quentin and Eliot remember everything that happened in the alternate timeline is that it wasn’t alternate. They were sent to Fillory, in the past where they lived a full, happy life. How else would Jane have gotten the key? How would Margo have received Q’s letter, if it was only an alternate timeline? Watch Q and El’s son turn out to be a fucking plot twist. Just watch.
