You know why I love Cassandra Cillian?

mentalsupernova:

Because no matter how much she

  • acts girly and feminine in a world full of tough people who act stronger than her
  • believes in the underlying goodness of people
  • is an idealist
  • has trouble focusing when her tumor makes her brain go haywire
  • likes nerdy things like science that make other people raise their brows

She’s still a valuable member of the Librarians team. Even when Jones and Stone poke fun at her, even when Baird pushes her aside, they all know that she is valuable. They don’t try to make her something she isn’t, and they don’t tell her that she can’t be a Librarian. She is on a level with Stone and Jones. Stone even helps her work through her haywire moments, understanding that it’s something she can’t control, but it doesn’t necessarily control her.
It gives me hope, for a tiny feminine girl who works in a world full of men, who lives with an anxiety disorder, who likes to look at the positive side even when cynicals make fun of her for doing so. It helps me see someone like me in the media. Now, when I watch the Librarians, all I want to do is pack up a picnic lunch and get ready to save the world.

Because if Cassandra can do it, then so can I.
