T-Rextissue discovered
Ifyou loved Jurassic Park, you’re going to enjoy this.
Researchersfrom North Carolina State University have currently found a
70-million year old soft tissue which scientists are currently
working on isolating proteins from.This
is important because if the DNA can be recovered and then modified
with another animal, say one of their closest relatives such as a
bird, there is a chance of replicating what Jurassic Park was all
about. They are currently comparing the dinosaur remains with
those of an ostrich, the largest bird available.Richard
A. Hengst of Purdue University said the finding “opens the door
for research into the protein structure of ancient organisms, if
nothing else. While we think that nature is conservative in how
things are built, this gives scientists an opportunity to observe
this at the chemical and cellular level.” Hengst was not part of
the research team.Follow this space for more information in
the future. We have three- soon to be four- movies about replicating dinosaurs that showcase why that’s a very bad idea- ESPECIALLY if the dinosaur in question is a carnivore.
