I don’t think some of you understand. Mabel didn’t choose Stan over Dipper. She chose believing in good over believing in bad.

From the very first episode, we are told that Mabel looks on the bright side of things. She is upbeat, but it’s more than that—she values and trusts the goodness in people. That’s her whole thing. So, when the time came to trust that her Grunkle is good instead of bad, she went with her gut. Maybe it was a mistake. (“Curse my over-sized heart!” she once exclaimed) But it wasn’t out of character. 

Mabel might love her twin brother more than anyone else in the world, but that doesn’t change what she believes in.
